Does it work in Word and my DMS?
Yes, in everything. VoiceTyper types into the active window on your computer, the same way a keyboard does. So if Word, NetDocuments, iManage, Clio, MyCase, Smokeball, Lexis, Westlaw, Outlook, or any other Windows or browser-based tool lets you type, VoiceTyper works in it. No plugins or DMS-specific setup.
Is it actually accurate on legal terminology?
Yes, out of the box. Trained on millions of hours of legal voice content, including case names, citation language, statutory references, motion practice, contract drafting language, and Latin phrases. You don't “train” it on your voice. If we ever miss a term, you add it to your personal dictionary in two seconds and it's recognized everywhere going forward.
What about background noise from depositions, courthouses, my open-plan office?
VoiceTyper works great in a normal office or chambers right out of the box. In genuinely loud spaces, like depositions, hearings prep, or an open-plan office, a clip-on headset mic (USB or wireless) pushes accuracy even higher. We keep a short list of mics our customers love, just ask support.
