FAQ

Does it integrate with my EHR?
Yes, with all of them. VoiceTyper types into the active window on your computer, the same way a keyboard does. So if your EHR lets you type into a chart field, VoiceTyper works in it. That includes Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, Allscripts, Meditech, Practice Fusion, DrChrono, Kareo, Greenway, ModMed, and any other Windows or browser-based EHR. No plugins or EHR-specific setup.
Is it actually accurate on medical terminology?
Yes, out of the box. Trained on millions of hours of clinical audio, including drug names, dosing, anatomy, abbreviations, lab values, and ICD-10 / CPT contexts. You don't “train” it on your voice. If we ever miss a term, you add it to your personal dictionary in two seconds and it's recognized everywhere going forward.
Is it HIPAA-compliant? Where does the audio go?
Yes. Audio is transmitted over an encrypted (TLS) connection and transcribed. We don't store recordings of your visits. We sign Business Associate Agreements with practices and hospital systems on request.
What about background noise in the ER, OR, or a busy hallway?
VoiceTyper works great in a normal exam room right out of the box. In genuinely loud settings like the ED, the OR, or a busy hallway, a clip-on headset mic (USB or wireless) pushes accuracy even higher. We keep a short list of mics our customers love, just ask support.
Will it actually understand my accent?
Yes. We trained on millions of hours of real American clinical voices, so the regional accents most dictation tools stumble on land cleanly: deep Southern, Texan, New Orleans, Boston, New York, Pittsburgh, Midwest, Pacific Northwest. We also handle British, Irish, Australian, South African, Indian, Filipino, Caribbean, and just about every other English accent you'll hear on a hospital floor. You don't have to slow down or change how you speak.
Can you sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)?
